John Sierotnik joined Mackenzie Hughes in 2014. His practice areas include
business, intellectual property and technology, litigation and mergers
John graduated cum laude from Catholic University in 2005 with a degree in Politics. John received his Juris Doctor from Notre Dame Law School in 2014, where he graduated magna cum laude and was honored as a Deanís Circle Fellow.
During law school, John served as an articles editor for the Notre Dame Journal of Law, Ethics, and Public Policy. The journal published his student note, "Golan v. Holder, the Copyright Clause, and the Changing Public Policy Underlying Copyright Law in the United States," in volume 28. John received a Deanís Award for the best appellate brief in his legal writing section. He also received Deanís Awards in Cyberlaw, Professional Responsibility, Evidence, Information Technology Law, Trusts and Estates, Taxation of Business Enterprises, and Real Estate Transactions.
John brings substantial information technology experience to Mackenzie Hughes. Prior to practicing law John worked closely with clients and senior management to develop technology solutions for business challenges.
In his spare time, he enjoys training for marathons, cycling, and playing the piano.
